Is the County Board of Supervisors hoarding resources rather than supporting much needed social services?

The County budget deliberations- June 27, 2pm, 1600 Pacific Highway, Room 310.  

The County has been going through its budget process for the upcoming year.  The last two weeks saw public hearings and public comment formally ended on June 21.  The Board of Supervisors will vote on the budget at their June 27th meeting-

The coalition Invest in San Diego Families has been shining a light on the budget practices of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, pointing out that the County has an unusually high cash reserve.  The coalition is “Challenging the County to invest in people, services and communities to stimulate the economy and CREATE A SAN DIEGO THAT WORKS FOR EVERYONE!”

The County is a powerhouse in the area, although it is often ignored in our political landscape.  One of the largest counties in the country, it has the resources to uplift and strengthen communities suffering from neglect and poverty.  The Peace Resource Center supports the growing call to Invest in San Diego Families.
