Nuclear Free Future

The PRC supports United for Peace and Justice (organization) in their call to action for a Nuclear Free Future.

Yes! Time to phase out nuclear power and start negotiations on a treaty to ban the bomb.

As UFPJ ask… Let us use the tragic anniversaries of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the month of August to expand our circles in order to put our planet on the path to sustainability, ending the nuclear scourge once and for all.  Let us use this month to reach out and dialogue with people and organizations beyond the peace movement and our usual partners, coalitions and friends; to educate, to inspire courage and creativity, to illustrate the steps we can take toward abolition, and to build a powerful constituency for a Nuclear Free Future…

Every year millions of people around the world commemorate the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. These commemorations not only honor those who lost their lives, but are a powerful statement of working together to ensure that such a tragedy never happens again. Please watch the video of the moving song by Peggy Watson that added to the inspiration generated at San Diego’s 2003 Hiroshima/Nagasaki Never Again Candlelight Vigil at Balboa Park.
