Come out and support the Annual Work-a-thon for Peace and Social Justice at the beautiful Mt. Hope Community Garden!

THERE ARE TWO WAYS YOU CAN HELP:

1. Volunteer for a day of service in support of the Mt. Hope Community Garden, an initiative of Project New Village in Southeastern San Diego. Project New Village strengthens communities through the development of beautiful, beneficial and bountiful neighborhood food options. The Garden aims to engage culturally diverse stakeholders into creating a neighborhood food ecosystem, which serves as a gathering space for children, families and community. Register using the link below.

2. Sponsor a volunteer worker. Your donation will give encouragement to those contributing their labor for the Work-a-thon and also benefit two non-profit groups: the Project on Youth and Non-Military Opportunities (Project YANO), and the Peace Resource Center of San Diego.

WORK-A-THON VOLUNTEERS: The tasks that will be done on May 6 include repositioning 17 raised garden plot frames, weed removal and painting a low wall constructed with recycled concrete slabs. Time frame: 9 AM-3PM (work all or part of this time). Workers are asked to solicit sponsorships from family, friends, employers, etc., to match their labor with a donation. To volunteer, please register here: https://goo.gl/forms/DKqkhbReN4ljxF3P2 Once your registration is complete, a sponsorship form will be sent to you.

WORK-A-THON SPONSORS: Sponsors contribute money in support of a volunteer worker. You can sponsor a specific worker you know, or send a check/donate online and we will match you with a volunteer. Contributions are tax-deductible. Please make checks out to “PRC/Work-a-thon” and send to Peace Resource Center 3850 Westgate Pl. San Diego, CA 92105 or visit https://www.prcsd.org/donate/ and select Annual Work-a-Thon under Online Giving Options.
