UPDATE:
On February 14, Valentine’s Day, the City Attorney of San Diego briefed the City Council on Washington State v Donald J. Trump and recommended the Council join the Amicus Brief.  In a lovely valentine to all people around the world, San Diego City Council voted 8-1 to sign onto the Brief.
Our gratitude to all the San Diego communities and individuals that signed the letter of support by the ACLU-San Diego/Imperial Valley, the City Attorney and the City Councilmembers who voted to support the rights of all people to travel.

Dear supporters of peace and justice,

The Peace Resource Center stands on the side of human rights and asks the City Council of San Diego to do so as well. At the February 13th Council meeting, we urged the Council to join the amicus brief for Washington State v. Donald J. Trump et al, which is challenging the unconstitutional executive order banning entry into the US solely based on one’s religious affiliation.

The Center’s Board has also signed this open letter to the City Council from the American Civil Liberties Union of San Diego and Imperial Valley.
The ACLU is presenting the letter to the San Diego City Council on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 10 am, on behalf of the peace and justice communities of San Diego.
